Dear Readers,

I am an lawyer, teacher, mum, soccer coach and tiger mum. I write a series of crime fiction stories for adults based on the ubiquitous Inspector Singh published by Little, Brown and translated into many languages. There are seven titles so far as follows and the series has just been optioned for television so watch this space!

I began writing fifteen years ago with the Sasha Books, a series of picture travel books about a little girl named Sasha visiting places in Asia. My main aim in writing these books was so that Asian children would feel comfortable in their own environment and have their sense of identity reinforced through reading instead of always being the stranger in the land of books as I was growing up.

About the same time, I caught the environmental bug. I belatedly realised that our lifestyles are unsustainable and our children are going to inherit the mess. In a panic, I began to write books (printed on recycled paper) about endangered species and do a lot of school visits to talk to kids about environmental issues. My first collection were of picture books like Turtle Takes a Trip and Jungle Blues. I have also written an environmental fantasy, The Seeds of Time and its sequel, Journey of the Chosen! The situation just gets more terrifying by the moment. Anyone who would like to work with me on environmental issues and has any good ideas, just drop me a line!

My latest book is my first thriller, The Beijing Conspiracy, available in July 2019!

Thanks for reading my books,
Shamini Flint
